Corporate Counsel
Location:
Paradigm is seeking a Corporate Counsel to support ourclient, a growing technology and e-commerce company with domestic andinternational operations.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role focusedprimarily on litigation management, risk and regulatory compliance, and problem-solving. The ideal candidate is a practical, collaborative attorney who provides ahigh level of service, communicates effectively with legal and non-legalstakeholders, and can independently manage priorities within a teamenvironment.
The company is open to candidates currently working asCorporate Counsel, Assistant Corporate Counsel, or in a similar in-house or lawfirm position. Direct technology, e-commerce, international trade, or sanctionsexperience is helpful but not required. Strong judgment, initiative, and theability to learn is more important than industry-specific experience.
Pay Rate: $125,000–$150,000annually
Location: Remote within theUnited States
As Corporate Counsel, you will:
- Manage activeand potential litigation, including evaluating claims, recommending legalstrategies, coordinating internal stakeholders, and monitoring deadlines andoutcomes.
- Select,retain, and manage outside counsel, consultants, and other legal servicesproviders.
- Monitorlitigation budgets and ensure outside counsel provides effective andcost-conscious representation.
- Identify legaland regulatory risks and recommend practical solutions that support businessoperations.
- Supportcompliance with governmental trade regulations, sanctions, licensingrequirements, consumer protection laws, privacy regulations, and otherapplicable requirements.
- Researchchanging laws and regulations and translating legal requirements into clearguidance for employees and business leaders.
- Review andrespond to escalated customer complaints, disputes, and matters submitted togovernmental, regulatory, or consumer organizations.
- Partner withinternal teams to develop fair, practical, and legally sound resolutions tocustomer issues.
- Draft, review,negotiate, and manage commercial contracts and business agreements.
- Provide legalguidance involving corporate governance, employment matters, privacy,intellectual property, real estate, and general business operations.
- Conduct legalresearch and prepare written recommendations, opinions, and guidance formanagement.
- Assist withmaintaining corporate entities, licenses, resolutions, operating agreements,and legal records.
- Support thedevelopment and improvement of company policies, procedures, and internalcontrols.
- Handle confidential andsensitive matters with discretion and sound judgment.
Requirements
- J.D. from anaccredited law school.
- Activeadmission and good standing with a U.S. state bar.
- Experiencesupporting litigation, dispute resolution, risk management, regulatory compliance.
- Strong legalresearch, analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Ability tomanage responsibilities independently while working collaboratively with abroader team.
- Strongcustomer-service mindset and the ability to build productive relationshipsacross an organization.
- Practicaljudgment and the ability to balance legal risk with customer and businessneeds.
- Ability tomanage competing priorities and respond effectively in fast-moving or ambiguoussituations.
- Willingness toobtain bar admission in Florida, Oregon, California, Texas, or Delaware ifrequired.
- Ability to handle confidentialand sensitive information.
Preferred qualifications:
- Priorexperience working as in-house counsel, assistant corporate counsel, or in asimilar corporate legal role.
- Experiencemanaging outside counsel and litigation budgets.
- Familiaritywith trade compliance, governmental sanctions, privacy, consumer protection, orlicensing requirements.
- Experiencesupporting a company with operations in multiple states or countries.
- Technology ore-commerce industry experience.
