Job Title: Corporate Development Manager
Location: Remote-US

Collectivus is seeking a Corporate Development Manager to help drive our acquisition strategy and support the continued growth of our global portfolio.

Reporting to the CFO, you will help identify attractive businesses, evaluate strategic and financial opportunities, and manage transactions from initial outreach through diligence, closing, and integration planning. You'll work closely with executive leadership and cross-functional partners across Finance, Legal, Operations, People, and our portfolio companies.

This is an opportunity for someone who loves both strategy and execution — and who leads with relationships. The strongest candidate is a genuine listener who can earn the trust of founders and small business owners, understand what makes a company (and the person who built it) special, and help bring the right opportunities into the Collectivus family. Relationship-building is not a byproduct of this role; it is central to it.

What You'll Do

M&A Strategy and Deal Sourcing

  • Support the development and execution of Collectivus' acquisition strategy.
  • Research markets, industry trends, and potential acquisition targets.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective opportunities.
  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with founders, business owners, intermediaries, investment bankers, and other industry partners — often well before a business is ever for sale.
  • Build trust and rapport with founders and small business owners by listening carefully to their goals, their concerns, and what they've built.
  • Evaluate how potential acquisitions align with our portfolio, capabilities, and long-term growth priorities.

Financial Analysis and Valuation

  • Build financial models to assess valuation, returns, synergies, risks, and deal structure.
  • Analyze historical performance, forecasts, working capital, cash flow, and key operating drivers.
  • Prepare investment cases, executive summaries, and recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Support the preparation of letters of intent, term sheets, and transaction-related materials.
  • Coordinate with internal and external advisors on financial, tax, legal, and commercial considerations.

Due Diligence and Deal Execution

  • Lead or coordinate cross-functional due diligence from initial evaluation through closing.
  • Manage diligence requests, data rooms, workstreams, timelines, and key deliverables.
  • Identify material risks, opportunities, dependencies, and potential deal issues.
  • Partner with Legal and Finance to support negotiations and transaction documentation.
  • Keep leadership informed through clear, timely updates and decision-ready recommendations.

Integration Planning

  • Partner with business and functional leaders to develop integration plans before closing.
  • Help establish integration priorities, milestones, ownership, and success measures.
  • Support the transition of acquired businesses into the Collectivus portfolio while listening to founders and teams to preserve the strengths that made them successful.
  • Track post-close performance against the original investment thesis and expected value creation.

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related field.
  • Approximately 5–8 years of relevant experience in corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or managing acquisitions through multiple stages of the transaction process.
  • A relationship-driven approach — this is a critical part of the role, and the person must genuinely enjoy building and sustaining trust over time.
  • Exceptional listening skills, with the ability to draw out what matters most to founders and business owners and make them feel understood.
  • Proven ability to work well with small business owners and founder-led businesses, and to earn their confidence.
  • Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements, transaction structures, and due diligence.
  • Ability to turn complex information into clear recommendations for executive decision-makers.
  • Strong project-management skills and the ability to coordinate multiple workstreams and stakeholders.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and comfort working with highly confidential information.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial, and globally distributed organization.

What Will Help You Stand Out

  • Experience with founder-led, consumer products, gaming, collectibles, hobby, distribution, e-commerce, or international businesses.
  • Experience evaluating both platform acquisitions and smaller add-on opportunities.
  • Familiarity with post-acquisition integration and value-creation planning.
  • A genuine interest in collecting, trading card games, gaming, or the communities our brands serve.
  • A curious, relationship-oriented approach — you enjoy understanding businesses and the people behind them, not just analyzing the numbers.

At Collectivus, we move with purpose, stay close to our customers, and believe the strongest results come from strong teams. We value people who can think strategically, roll up their sleeves, and move comfortably between big-picture opportunities and transaction-level details.
