Join Viva Energy's is seeking a Corporate Finance Analyst to join their Corporate Development & Mergers & Acquisitions team on a 12-month fixed term contract parental leave cover and play a key role in shaping the future of one of Australia's leading energy businesses. This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional to contribute to high-impact strategic initiatives, investment decisions and potential acquisition opportunities that influence the direction of the organisation.
Working closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders, you will provide critical financial analysis, develop and maintain sophisticated financial models, evaluate growth opportunities and help deliver insights that support business strategy and long-term value creation. This is a transaction-focused corporate finance role with exposure to corporate strategy, mergers and acquisitions, capital allocation, business planning and complex commercial projects. It is suited to candidates with experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, valuations, corporate development or strategy consulting. It is not a financial accounting, controllership or FP&A role.

Responsibilities & Requirements
- Design, build, review and maintain integrated financial models for valuation, business planning, forecasting, scenario analysis and sensitivities.
- Provide quantitative and qualitative analysis to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, business cases and potential corporate transactions.
- Undertake market, industry, competitor and company research, drawing out the implications for Viva Energy.
- Support financial and commercial due diligence, including analysis of operational, financial and market information.
- Prepare concise, decision-ready papers, presentations and other materials for senior management and internal governance forums.
- Develop benchmarks and performance measures and assess initiatives against financial and strategic objectives.
- Support the development of long-term financial forecasts and scenarios across Viva Energy business units.
- Assess whether individual initiatives align with enterprise strategy, value-creation priorities and risk appetite.
- Work collaboratively with Finance, business units and other corporate functions, as well as external advisers where required.
- Manage own workplan and deliver accurate, high-quality outputs within agreed timeframes, flexing across priorities as business needs evolve
- Tertiary qualification in finance, commerce, economics, business or a related discipline.
- Approximately 5+ years of relevant experience in investment banking, transaction advisory, corporate finance, valuations, strategy consulting, a Big 4 accounting firm or a comparable analytical environment.
- Demonstrated experience in financial modelling, valuation, strategic analysis, transactions, business cases or investment evaluation.
- Experience analysing financial statements and business performance from a commercial and investment perspective. A financial accounting background is not required.
- Exposure to investment projects, mergers and acquisitions, due diligence, capital markets, corporate strategy or complex commercial projects will be highly regarded
