Corporate IT Lead
Description
Corporate IT Lead (Remote – LATAM)
Full-Time | Independent Contractor
About the Opportunity
We are partnering with a growing, fully remote international technology company supporting a distributed workforce across the United States, United Kingdom, South America, and Europe. The company operates in a technology-driven environment where reliable systems, strong security practices, and efficient IT operations are essential to its day-to-day business.
They are looking for an experienced Corporate IT Lead to take ownership of their corporate IT operations, security, compliance, systems governance, and overall employee technology experience.
This is a senior, high-autonomy position combining hands-on operational ownership with strategic responsibility. You will work closely with the SVP of Engineering and other company leaders to identify opportunities for improvement, establish IT strategy, and drive initiatives from planning through implementation.
This is a solo senior individual contributor role, not a people-management position. You will oversee managed service providers (MSPs), specialist contractors, and SaaS vendors rather than build or manage an internal IT department. The ideal candidate knows how to operate independently, exercise sound judgment, and ensure accountability across external technology partners.
The role is approximately 70% operational and 30% strategic.
Key Responsibilities
IT Operations & Employee Experience
Own company-wide IT service delivery for a globally distributed workforce.
Ensure a reliable, responsive, and seamless technology experience throughout the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to offboarding.
Manage MSP and contractor relationships, establishing clear scopes of work, performance metrics, and accountability standards.
Step in directly when necessary to resolve technical issues and maintain service quality.
Oversee employee onboarding and offboarding, including hardware provisioning, access management, and external-user access.
Ensure adequate IT support coverage across US and UK/European working hours.
Manage the global hardware and endpoint lifecycle, including security standards, inventory, replacements, and vendor coordination.
Oversee both Windows and macOS environments.
Corporate IT Strategy & Systems Governance
Develop and propose corporate IT strategies in collaboration with the SVP of Engineering and other leadership stakeholders.
Proactively identify technology risks, operational inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the company's technology ecosystem, including systems, integrations, dependencies, ownership, and information flows.
Identify and address unnecessary software duplication, inefficient integrations, excessive costs, and system maintainability risks.
Own SaaS and application governance, including software inventory, access controls, license management, application rationalization, and evaluation of new tools.
Oversee external contractors responsible for CRM administration and provide technical governance across CRM and other business systems.
Identity, Security & Compliance
Own identity and access management across the corporate environment, including SSO, MFA, privileged access, and employee lifecycle access controls.
Lead the company's SOC 2 compliance program end-to-end, including audit coordination, evidence collection, control implementation, remediation, and collaboration with internal control owners.
Oversee corporate IT security across endpoints, identity systems, SaaS applications, vendors, and corporate information systems.
Lead corporate IT security incident response and participate in broader company incident response when necessary.
Manage third-party technology and vendor security assessments, including ongoing vendor oversight.
Develop and maintain IT and security policies aligned with compliance requirements and operational needs.
Information Management
Own the corporate information management framework in collaboration with executives and department leaders.
Establish standards for information ownership, access, retention, sharing, storage, and lifecycle management.
Ensure corporate systems, processes, integrations, and administrative responsibilities are properly documented and transferable.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date IT procedures, documentation, and role responsibilities.
AI Governance
Manage the company's approved AI tools and AI usage policies.
Evaluate AI tools, agents, connectors, and integrations for security and data-handling risks.
Monitor AI adoption and spending while identifying opportunities to leverage new AI capabilities.
Coordinate AI training and enablement as part of the broader IT training program.
What Success Looks Like
IT support is reliable, responsive, and largely seamless.
Employee onboarding, offboarding, hardware provisioning, and access changes happen efficiently.
SOC 2 audits and evaluations are completed successfully with minimal organizational overhead.
MSPs and external vendors deliver consistent, high-quality service.
Hardware and endpoint management operate smoothly across countries and time zones.
SaaS inventories, information ownership, and IT documentation remain accurate and current.
Corporate systems and integrations are well understood and effectively governed.
