Summary

Flies company aircraft to transport medical staff and deliver organs/tissue materials for a transplant network. Manages flight operations, maintains FAA compliance, and works 20-22 on-call shifts monthly in a non-profit healthcare setting.

Responsible for flying the company aircraft and serving as pilot in command or second in command (consistent with FAA regulations), as needed, as well as administrative and maintenance tasks.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Assists Manager, Aviation with company flight operations, including but not limited to, leading and/or being secondary to; personnel training, scheduling, maintenance, and safety/emergency management.
  2. Operates assigned aircraft in accordance with safety requirements, aircraft flight manual, and company and departmental policies.
  3. Completes administrative duties including necessary paperwork, reports and analysis of department and MTN functions.
  4. Maintains an on-call schedule of 20-22 shifts per month.
  5. Transports staff members and retrieval teams to and from donor recovery locations.
  6. Delivers tissue typing materials to HLA Laboratories.
  7. Delivers organs to transplant centers.
  8. Transports staff members on administrative flights approved by Chief Executive Officer.
  9. Maintains current pilot certificate and qualifications.
  10. Develops and maintains effective communications and professional relationships within the company and with

support organizations.

  1. Participates actively in the company Quality Management Plan and department Safety Management System to identify risk areas and recommend strategies to minimize risk and achieve targeted outcomes.
  2. Actively participate in, and contribute to, the realization of the organizational goals.
  3. Actively participate in and support MTN’s Safety Culture which ensures strict adherence to all policies and regulations.
  4. Performs other duties as defined by the Manager, Aviation.
  5. The MTN pilot has the support of senior leadership when making difficult/safe decisions relating to all flights.
