Corporate Security Manager
Description
This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, which manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Corporate Security Manager based in Netherlands.
As Corporate Security Manager, you will lead the development and execution of a comprehensive security strategy across international operations. You will oversee internal investigations, fraud prevention, employee-related security risks, background screening, and physical security. In this leadership role, you will manage a team of specialists, strengthen investigation standards, and ensure effective risk mitigation across sensitive business functions. Working closely with Legal, HR, Finance, Risk, Cyber Defense, and operational leaders, you will turn investigation findings into practical control improvements. You will also contribute to crisis preparedness, executive safety, and business continuity initiatives. This is an opportunity to shape a mature corporate security function in a dynamic, international environment where sound judgment, accountability, and operational resilience are essential.
Accountabilities:
- Lead the Corporate Security function: Define the operating model, strategic priorities, methodologies, quality standards, and team development plans while managing workloads, delegating responsibilities, and overseeing escalations within your authority.
- Oversee internal investigations: Manage case intake, prioritization, evidence requirements, interview coordination, documentation, decision logs, quality reviews, and formal case closure. Lead complex or sensitive investigations involving insider misuse, privileged access abuse, trading or administrative systems, financial processes, payments, and operational fraud.
- Strengthen investigation practices: Guide analysts in investigative research and OSINT activities, ensure evidence is handled appropriately, and coordinate relevant customer-account evidence handovers with Customer Support while respecting established responsibilities and authorization boundaries.
- Manage background screening: Oversee screening activities for sensitive roles and coordinate with HR, Talent Acquisition, and Legal to ensure findings, limitations, and recommended actions are documented and reviewed through the appropriate decision-making channels.
- Improve internal controls: Direct employee-misuse control initiatives across Trading and Finance. Collaborate with system owners, DevOps, Data, Risk & Dealing, Back Office, Finance, and Legal to establish data requirements, assess findings, identify control weaknesses, and drive corrective actions.
- Monitor remediation and risk exposure: Track recurring issues, control gaps, outstanding commitments, and formal risk decisions. Verify remediation evidence and escalate overdue critical actions, unresolved ownership disputes, and material security concerns.
- Oversee physical security: Maintain corporate physical-security standards across designated offices, supervising local specialists and overseeing access-control governance, CCTV practices, evidence access, site assessments, and incident escalation. Approve routine low- and medium-risk physical-security and travel controls within delegated authority.
- Coordinate safety and resilience initiatives: Work with relevant specialists and business leaders on travel security, executive safety, crisis management, and business continuity. Support continuity exercises and follow-up activities while respecting the responsibilities of business owners and technical recovery teams.
- Collaborate on technical security matters: Partner with Cyber Defense on evidence collection and incident coordination, ensuring technical cyber incident response and digital forensics remain with authorized specialists.
- Support high-impact decisions: Prepare recommendations on high-risk investigations, major security controls, crisis situations, and resilience investments for the appropriate approval channels. Escalate executive-safety threats, significant legal exposure, and business-continuity crises to senior security and executive leadership.
- Ensure accountability and independent oversight: Maintain accessible investigation records, reliable evidence trails, and clear handovers. Ensure sensitive cases involving relevant leadership follow approved independent review and escalation procedures.
Requirements:
- Relevant leadership experience: Demonstrated experience leading sensitive internal investigations from initial intake and scope definition through evidence review, interviews, findings, escalation, and documented closure.
- Strong investigative judgment: Ability to distinguish allegations, preliminary indicators, and corroborated facts, and to reach defensible conclusions based on authorized records, activity histories, approval chains, and business context.
- Fraud and insider-risk expertise: Experience investigating employee misconduct, privileged business-system misuse, control bypasses, or other internal security incidents, with the ability to identify when specialist or technical support is required.
- Investigation governance: Proven ability to establish proportionate case-management processes, evidence-handling standards, confidentiality safeguards, access controls, decision logs, and review procedures that support independent verification.
- Risk and control management: Experience translating investigation findings into practical control improvements, assigning remediation ownership, tracking corrective actions, and following up with business and system owners.
- Team leadership and coordination: Ability to prioritize cases, delegate routine responsibilities, coach specialists, review investigation quality, and balance workloads across investigations, background screening, internal controls, and physical security.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Strong stakeholder-management skills, particularly when working with HR, Legal, Finance, Risk, technical teams, and senior leadership on confidential or sensitive matters while maintaining clear decision-making boundaries.
- Physical-security knowledge: Ability to assess office access controls, CCTV governance, evidence access, site-security findings, and incident escalation processes, coordinating specialist action where required.
- Reporting and communication: Strong analytical and documentation skills, with the ability to prepare concise management reports covering case progress, material findings, recurring weaknesses, overdue actions, key decisions, and unresolved dependencies.
- Crisis and continuity awareness: Ability to coordinate security-related crisis and business-continuity matters with the appropriate stakeholders while respecting established ownership of business recovery and technical response.
Nice to have:
- Experience in fintech, brokerage, trading, payments, or another regulated or security-sensitive financial environment, particularly involving employee-misuse controls.
- Practical experience with OSINT, link analysis, background screening, or electronic-record reviews that supports effective investigation oversight.
- Experience coordinating physical-security programmes across multiple offices or countries, or contributing to crisis-management and business-continuity exercises.
- Relevant certifications or professional training in investigations, fraud prevention, corporate security management, or business continuity.
Benefits:
- Paid time off: 20 days of paid annual vacation.
- Paid sick leave: 10 days per year.
- Public holidays: Time off in accordance with the approved public holiday calendar.
- Healthcare support: A medical budget to support your healthcare needs.
- Remote work: Flexibility to work remotely.
- Professional development: A dedicated education budget to support ongoing learning and career growth.
- Language learning: A budget for language courses and development.
- Wellness support: A dedicated budget for gym memberships, sports equipment, and related wellness expenses.
