Corporate Social Responsibility, Deputy Manager

Role Overview

This position is primarily responsible for driving the organisation’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda, while also providing structured support in Government & Corporate Affairs (GACA) to facilitate informed decision-making and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

  • Spearhead the planning and execution of CSR strategies in alignment with the Group’s sustainability goals and overall business direction.
  • Develop and roll out impactful initiatives spanning community outreach, environmental efforts, and social impact, with clear measurement of outcomes and governance in place.
  • Define performance metrics and implement tracking, evaluation, and reporting mechanisms to assess programme effectiveness and identify areas for enhancement.
  • Oversee allocation of budgets, resources, and external partnerships (e.g., NGOs, community bodies) to ensure efficient delivery of CSR initiatives.
  • Enhance the organisation’s brand as a socially responsible entity through meaningful collaborations and well-executed programmes.
  • Promote internal awareness and participation in CSR, while supporting external communications and positioning efforts.
  • Prepare periodic reports, insights, and recommendations for senior leadership review.
  • Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by management.

Government & Corporate Affairs (GACA)

  • Support leadership with well-structured analysis, briefing documents, and stakeholder insights to aid strategic decisions and engagements.
  • Keep abreast of policy, regulatory, and stakeholder developments, translating findings into clear, actionable summaries with business relevance.
  • Monitor stakeholder interactions, ensuring timely follow-ups and closure of key action items.
  • Coordinate cross-functional inputs for regulatory submissions and documentation to ensure compliance and deadlines are met.
  • Maintain consistency and alignment in internal communications to support GACA-related initiatives.

Requirements

Experience & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Social Sciences, Communications, or a related discipline; postgraduate qualifications or certifications are an added advantage.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in managing and delivering CSR initiatives, with some exposure to Government and/or Corporate Affairs functions.
  • Prior experience within manufacturing environments or CSR foundations would be beneficial.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven capability in developing CSR strategies, executing programmes, and managing diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with comfort navigating ambiguity and complex organisational structures.
  • Effective stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to collaborate across internal teams and external partners.
  • Independent, proactive, and able to engage confidently with various stakeholders.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, including presentation capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word.
