Executive Summary

ElevenX's mandate — found and exit 1,000 companies in a decade — only works if the operating and technology backbone underneath each company is standardized, not reinvented per venture. This Chief of Staff role is built for that job: it is a strategy–technology–operations hybrid, not an EA-track chief of staff. The mandate is to give you (and, through you, Anjli) leverage across a multiplying portfolio by owning three things simultaneously — the holdco's strategic operating cadence (planning, board prep, portfolio-wide reporting), the shared technology and security backbone every new company inherits on day one, and the governance playbooks that make carve-outs, integrations, and new-co formation repeatable rather than bespoke. In effect, the role systematizes the carve-out/TSA/governance discipline you built at OculusIT and Cioniq into infrastructure embedded in ElevenX itself.

Core Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Portfolio Operations

Own the holdco's strategic planning cadence — quarterly OKRs, annual planning, and board-package preparation across all portfolio companies.

Build and maintain a standardized, portfolio-wide KPI/reporting rollup (one system of record across QuickLaunch, Unifyed, BlackBeltHelp, and future entities), rather than each portco reporting in its own format.

Support diligence and stand-up playbooks for new company formation or acquisition — Day-1/Day-100 plans, carve-out and TSA-style transition templates drawn from proven playbooks.

Prepare board materials, investor updates, and COO/GP briefings; run the follow-through loop on commitments made in those forums.

2. Technology & Systems

Define and govern the shared technology stack every portfolio company inherits — identity/SSO, data infrastructure, security baseline, core finance/HR/ops tooling.

Own AI and automation adoption across the holdco — identify where AI compresses operating overhead across portfolio companies (this is a direct lever on the AI-moat dimension of ElevenX's own investment thesis).

Partner with portfolio-company technical leads on architecture standards and security posture (SOC2/GDPR/GLBA-grade readiness) so new companies aren't each solving compliance from scratch.

3. Operations & Governance

Design and run a cross-portfolio governance framework — decision rights, reporting lines, escalation paths — modeled on the governance discipline already proven in your Cioniq practice.

Standardize operating playbooks for hiring, finance ops, vendor management, and M&A carve-out/integration so they're reusable across ventures rather than rebuilt each time.

Run cross-portfolio vendor consolidation and cost-optimization initiatives.

Own special projects and rapid-response initiatives on your behalf and Anjli's.

4. Chief of Staff Core

Run the COO's operating rhythm — prioritization, meeting cadence, and follow-through on commitments.

Act as a trusted proxy for the COO in cross-functional and portfolio-company-facing settings.

Handle confidential and sensitive initiatives — including support for the concurrent COO/CFO/CVCO executive search.

Ideal Candidate Profile

8–15 years combining strategy/portfolio company experience with genuine technology and systems fluency — this is not a pure EA-track chief of staff.

Prior experience inside a multi-entity environment: PE portfolio operations, venture studio, multi-brand holdco, or an M&A-heavy operating role.

Technically literate enough to hold their own on identity/security/data architecture decisions without needing to be a hands-on engineer.

Demonstrated ability to build governance and reporting systems from scratch, not just administer existing ones.

High agency, low ego — comfortable operating as connective tissue across GP, COO, CFO, CVCO, and portfolio-company leadership.

Discretion with confidential, board-level, and executive-search-sensitive material.
