Cost Accountant III

The Cost Accountant III delivers month-end and ad hoc reporting with an eye toward being responsible for cost analysis activities, such as cost reduction or cost variance. They look to maintain or improve the costs of the company where possible. They provide management with actual cost details as posted to the general ledger and work through costing exceptions to maintain accuracy in the ERP database.

• Direct the month-end and year-end closing processes for cost of goods sold
• Perform cost-variance analyses in order to optimize cost savings
• Analyze and compare the cost of new products to that of existing products with an element of forecasting and budget planning
• Complete month-end journal entries related to inventory and cost of goods sold
• Develop and maintain tools for labor costing and exception cleanup
• Assist in the coordination of the annual physical inventory
• Analyze and combine multiple data sets of varying formats and prepare reports for management
• Assist in the accumulation of program costs and estimation of costs at completion

Experience:

• Minimum five (5) years of experience in Accounting, Financial Analyst, or similar position.
  • OR (9) years of experience may be considered in lieu of a Bachelors Degree.
  • OR (3) years of experience may be considered w/ a Masters Degree.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
