Cost Control Engineer
· Provides cost analysis, controls
and reports activities for all projects. · Provides input and
recommendations for cost engineering requirements relative to project
controls, and prepares and analyzes comparisons of scope, quantities and cost
data between the project forecasts and the budgets. · Organizes, monitors and controls
projects cost and defines projects needs for cost control in accordance with
contractual requirements, objectives, and Company procedures. · Analyzes projects expenses by
trade and compares them to budget. · Ensures that all project
commitments are accurately reported and maintains updated final project
forecasts and expenditure forecasts. · Proactively advises management
when forecasted costs exceed the approved budget. · Disseminates budget information
to all operating groups, provides clarification and additional information
where required & handles related special assignments if required. · Uses statistical tools to
analyze cost metrics and perform risk analysis. · Analyzes contractors' cost
reports and extracts required data for management reporting. · Prepares and reports cost
engineering information on a monthly basis and additional reports as required
by Management. · Collects, monitors, analyzes and
reports all cost information for all projects through all departments. · Reviews and analyzes all claims
and Change Orders on projects contracts. · Initiates appropriate action
when total forecast indicates allocated funds will be exceeded. |
Requirements
· 7+ years’ experience in a similar position, preferably in Infrastructure projects. · Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment. · Extremely detail-oriented · An aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoning · The ability to communicate in written and oral formats with diplomacy
and tact · Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously |
