Cost Engineer

Description

Eram Talent is actively seeking an experienced cost engineer to handle project management activities for the upstream unconventional resources. We seek an experienced cost engineer to provide a complete cost engineering service to the team, demonstrating expertise in large, complex projects with a global reach. The ideal candidate will have prior experience in upstream oil and gas, midstream, LNG, refining and petrochemicals industries.

Responsibilities

• Provide all cost engineering expertise and coordinate activities as group/unit leader as required.
• Responsible for preparation of cost portion of the engineering, procurement and construction contracts.
• Collect, monitor, analyze and report all cost information through the project manager.
• Review and analyze all claims and change orders on project contracts.
• Participate in the negotiation of project contracts as required.
• Initiate appropriate action when total forecast indicates allocated funds will be exceeded.
• Prepare necessary reports to monitor cost utilization for management, as required.
• Provide assistance to other project support team on cost reviews, as necessary.
• Have strong technical writing skills and be willing to mentor and motivate young Saudi engineers and train future work colleagues in their roles and duties in the business.
• Be proactive and promote a culture of continuous business process improvements.
• Keep abreast of significant developments in cost engineering by close review of technical literature, contacts with contractors, visits to areas of construction, and attendance at professional technical meetings.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, economics, business administration, MIS, accounting, or closely related field.
• Minimum of twelve (12) years’ experience in cost engineering including at least five years devoted to petrochemical, refinery, pipeline, or power generation projects.
• Familiarity with construction practices, materials, and equipment.
• Strong interpersonal skills, creative solution and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in computer programs.
• Strong technical writing skills and willingness to mentor and motivate young Saudi engineers.
• Knowledge of international standard specifications and familiarity with Aramco standards especially in civil, mechanical, and piping disciplines.
