Cost Estimator

Position Overview

CES is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented Estimator to provide cost estimating services for an MTA NYCT CM Division of Car Equipment (“DCE”) Car Washer Component Repairs Project.The ideal candidate must be responsive, reliable, and able to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines. Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates.
• Review and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, BOQs, and contract documents to develop accurate quantity take-offs and pricing.
• Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed estimates at various project phases.
• Perform quantity take-offs using drawings where applicable.
• Evaluate labor, equipment, material, subcontractor, and indirect costs, including escalation, contingencies, and risk allowances.
• Coordinate with engineering, planning, scheduling, construction, and procurement teams to validate scope, assumptions, and pricing.
• Support bid preparation, including pricing strategies, subcontractor comparisons, and bid reviews.
• Analyze scope changes, claims, and variations, providing cost impact assessments and backup documentation.
• Develop change order estimates and support team during negotiations.
