Cost Management Support (6 Month Contract)
Our client, a leading financial services organisation in Singapore, is looking for a Technology Cost Management specialist to join on a contract basis. This role will lead a technology cost deep dive reconciling costs, validating CAM allocations, and setting up a repeatable monthly cost governance cadence.
What you'll do:
- Analyse monthly technology costs, identifying key movements, anomalies, and drivers; reconcile amounts between finance reporting and source records
- Review CAM allocations, validate charging against agreed methodology, and trace costs back to drivers (consumption, subscriptions, asset counts, usage metrics)
- Collect and validate supporting documentation (invoices, POs, contracts/SOWs, consumption reports, approvals) and confirm correct charging to entity/cost centre/project
- Set up and run a monthly cost review cadence — timetable, templates, actions tracker — and produce a concise MI pack covering validated cost position, key movements, CAM changes, and risks/issues
- Document CAM rule/driver/mapping changes with rationale, approvals, and effective dates, and drive remediation of gaps, duplicates, or outdated allocations to closure
What you'll bring:
- Proven experience in cost management, performance management, finance control, or FP&A-style support, ideally within Technology and/or a regulated environment
- Strong reconciliation skills — able to trace reported costs to source and explain variances clearly
- Familiarity with allocation/chargeback (CAM) concepts and cost attribution
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables essential; PowerQuery a plus)
- Sharp attention to detail, comfortable with imperfect data
- Confident communicator, able to constructively challenge stakeholders and drive issues to closure
