The Counseling & Career Services Manager leads the Counseling and Career Preparation Program, supervising Career Counselors and Career Preparation Period (CPP) Instructors. This role ensures high-quality counseling, case management, and program delivery to drive student retention, progress, and successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the Counseling & Career Preparation Program and staff
- Oversee student counseling services and case management to ensure student success and completion
- Ensure confidentiality of sensitive information and integrity of student data
- Enforce all integrity guidelines and prevent data manipulation
- Drive performance to meet or exceed DOL and company goals
- Interview, hire, train, evaluate, and discipline staff as needed
- Lead effective case management and student success teams
- Foster a positive, respectful, and inclusive culture for students and staff
- Ensure student engagement in leadership and after-hours programming
- Oversee student progress evaluations and panels
- Maintain staffing levels and fill vacancies in a timely manner
- Motivate, coach, and develop staff to achieve performance goals
- Provide onboarding and ongoing staff training
- Build partnerships with community organizations, employers, and training providers
- Promote Job Corps and maintain strong community and stakeholder relationships
- Model and reinforce Career Success Standards (PRH)
- Ensure appropriate student supervision, behavior management, and accountability
- Continuously improve program quality and student services
- Communicate clearly and effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Identify problems, implement solutions, and ensure follow-through
- Collaborate across departments to support student success
- Support Center leadership and perform additional duties as assigned
