About Us:
Be part of something exciting at Porter Pipe & Supply! This position is based in Indianapolis, IN, where you’ll join a thriving team. As a member of our Counter Sales Representative team, you’ll play a pivotal role in providing excellent customer service at our Will Call counter while utilizing your knowledge of pipes, valves, and fittings to assist mechanical and plumbing contractors.

What We’re Looking For:
Strong knowledge of pipes, valves, and fittings
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to build rapport with both internal and external customers
Positive attitude and ability to work independently and on a team
Comfort operating fabrication equipment and basic warehouse machinery
Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities
Computer literacy, including Microsoft Office products
What You’ll Do:
Make product recommendations and assist customers with PVF products
Handle cash, check, and credit card sales using CSD/TWL
Prepare routine reports and file sales records
Operate dolly, pallet jack, forklift, and shrink wrap machine as needed
Assist in warehouse duties, loading and packing customer vehicles
Follow departmental policies, procedures, and continuous quality improvement objectives
Operate fabrication equipment as required
Adhere to all company safety rules and guidelines
Perform other duties as assigned

What You’ll Bring:
High School Diploma or GED required
3 years of PVF distribution experience preferred
Previous SX Enterprise experience preferred but not required
Point-of-sale computer experience preferred but not required
Prior forklift experience preferred but not required
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull objects up to 50 pounds
Requires visual, hearing, and speech acuity
Exposure to extreme temperatures, elements, and noise
