  • Build and deepen executive relationships with client CEOs, management teams, decision-makers, regulators, government stakeholders, key merchants, and ecosystem partners, while representing Visa as a trusted market leader in Cambodia’s evolving payments landscape.

  • Understand and articulate how Visa differs from its competitors in terms of business strategies and capabilities, product positioning and pricing, and ability to drive client performance.
  • Partner closely with Government Engagement and cross-functional teams to anticipate, shape, and respond to regulatory developments affecting Visa’s business and the broader payments ecosystem, while supporting economic growth, innovation, and financial inclusion.
  • Drive strong collaboration across the fintech and broader payments ecosystem to unlock new partnership-led growth opportunities and accelerate digital payments adoption in Cambodia.
  • Understand the impact of the market performance on the IPVMC cluster and Asia Pacific region strategy and how it will enable Visa to reach its ambitious goals.
  • Align functional initiatives in the market to Visa’s broader business priorities across the IPVMC cluster, helping to focus resources, sequence investments, and drive coordinated execution.
  • Lead local initiatives within the wider Visa community in IPVMC and ensure the market has the necessary resources to achieve scorecard targets.
  • Leverage data, analytics and AI-enabled insights to inform strategic decision-making, enhance client engagement, optimize go-to-market strategies, and identify new growth opportunities across consumer, commercial and money movement solutions.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to the team, ensuring maximum efficiency and engagement by handling conflicting and challenging demands across multiple client accounts.
  • Collaborate and engage with colleagues across Visa, endeavoring to provide guidance and support with complex negotiations and ensure the business is appropriately involved and informed about client matters, delivering solutions as one team.
  • Maintain a comprehensive operational risk and control environment and ensure strict adherence to Visa compliance practices are maintained at all times through championing risk ownership and accountability.
  • Champion Visa’s consumer and employer brand in the market – leading by example on Visa’s Leadership Principles and values.
  • Attract, develop and retain outstanding talent. Ensure appropriate succession planning is in place for key roles, maximize employee engagement and ensure all staff have meaningful development plans. Create a sense of community and drive a culture of genuine inclusion.

Why this is important to Visa

Cambodia is strategically important to Visa as a high-growth, underpenetrated payments market within the IPVMC cluster, where accelerating the shift from cash to digital payments is a key driver of long-term value. The market presents significant opportunities to expand acceptance, scale cross-border and affluent products, and compete with emerging local payment ecosystems. Operating in a complex regulatory and stakeholder environment, Cambodia also requires strong government and partner engagement, making it a critical market for shaping Visa’s broader approach to growth, innovation, and financial inclusion across emerging Asia Pacific markets.

What success looks like:

  • Deliver Cambodia scorecard targets across revenue, market share, and strategic growth metrics.
  • Deepen executive relationships with priority clients, partners, regulators, and ecosystem stakeholders.
  • Accelerate acceptance growth and digital payment use cases across consumer, commercial, and money movement flows.
  • Strengthen Visa’s competitive position in a fast-evolving payments landscape.
  • Build a high-performing, engaged local team and strong succession pipeline.

Qualifications

What you will need:

  • Significant senior commercial leadership experience in payments or adjacent sectors where digital, e-commerce, or technology-led business models feature strongly; 15+ years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Demonstrated success in defining strategy and leading it through execution, particularly in growth environments where digital transformation and customer adoption are key drivers of performance.
  • Strong track record of commercial leadership, executive client engagement, and developing new business opportunities through differentiated payments and partnership solutions.
  • Ability to operate effectively in ambiguity, influence across a matrix organization, and convert strategic priorities into commercial results.
  • Strong commercial acumen with proven success growing a business in a high-growth, fast-evolving environment while meeting demanding financial and business targets.
  • Experience engaging effectively with regulators, government stakeholders, and senior external partners in a highly regulated environment.
  • Strong data orientation, with the ability to use analytics and modern insight tools to inform commercial decisions, client strategies, and market prioritization.
  • Comfort with emerging technologies and the ability to translate data, analytics, and innovation capabilities into practical business outcomes for clients and Visa.
  • Financial literacy and strong judgment in risk management, governance, and business controls.
  • Experience working in a global matrix organization, with the ability to navigate complexity, align stakeholders, and empower local decision-making.
  • Experience leading teams through change, building high performance, and sustaining engagement through transformation.

Preferred experience
