Country Manager, Malaysia — Milik
Reporting Line: Head of International Business Unit
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
I. Business Context
Milik Malaysia is the first live case of the International Department’s “New Country Expansion Template,” having completed a 4-week rapid launch across App / Web / Social. We are now in the critical phase of codifying the expansion SOP and OpenSec / CI standardization processes, which will be directly reused for cold-start launches in 3+ additional countries(not limited to SEA).
Milik urgently needs a Country Manager to own the full-funnel P&L—driving commercialization from 0 to 1 while helping codify a replicable “4-week go-live” template. The hire will transition Milik from “launch phase” to “commercialization + template retrospection,” delivering a commercialization baseline within 4 weeks to serve as the blueprint for H2 six-country expansion.
II. Key Responsibilities
- Full-Funnel P&L Ownership: Assume full accountability for Milik Malaysia's P&L across content, traffic, commercialization, and user retention.
- Local Business Development: Lead the end-to-end onboarding, management, and relationship maintenance of KOLs, brands, and affiliate partners in Malaysia.
- Multilingual AIGC Content Coordination: Collaborate with the AIGC platform to ensure quality and cadence of content production in Malay, English, and Chinese.
- Cross-Border KPI Alignment & Template Codification: Align KPIs with B1/B2 teams and systematically codify learnings as the first expansion template case for reuse by subsequent countries.
- Local Team Building & Compliance Coordination: Recruit and build the Malaysia team; coordinate local compliance, tax, and office setup.
III. Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in consumer content, e-commerce, shopping guides, or social media in Malaysia or Southeast Asia.
- Candidate background: Malaysian national, native-level proficiency in Malay/English, with strong capability in local team building.
- Proven track record of independent operation in a startup / solo-operator ("one-person company") environment, with 0→1 national-level business ownership experience, having independently managed the P&L of a country- or region-level business line.
- Mature commercialization execution capabilities, with a verifiable KOL / leading brand resource network and direct partnership relationships in Malaysia; experience driving product DAU (Daily Active Users) growth, user growth, and channel expansion is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of Malaysia's local shopping guide, traffic referral, and cashback/affiliate marketing platforms (ShopBack MY, iPrice MY, RebateMango, Involve Asia), with relevant industry experience and understanding of the regulatory/compliance environment.
