The Country Manager – Philippines will be responsible for transforming MoneyGram’s presence in the country, driving sales, expanding partnerships, and ensuring regulatory compliance. This leadership role requires a deep understanding of the remittance and payments ecosystem, strong relationships with key industry players, and an ability to navigate the regulatory landscape. The ideal candidate will have an entrepreneurial mindset, a strategic vision, and the ability to execute at both a high level and an operational level.
Key Responsibilities
Market Expansion & Sales Growth
Lead MoneyGram’s strategy in the Philippines, driving revenue growth and market penetration.
Identify and secure new business opportunities with financial institutions, fintechs, mobile wallets, telecoms, and retail partners.
Manage and optimize existing partnerships to maximize business performance.
Develop innovative go-to-market strategies to increase adoption and customer engagement.
Regulatory & Government Relations
Establish and maintain strong relationships with regulators, including the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) and other relevant authorities.
Ensure MoneyGram operates in full compliance with all local regulatory requirements and licensing obligations.
Act as the key representative for MoneyGram in regulatory discussions and industry forums.
Industry Leadership & Representation
Represent MoneyGram at industry events, conferences, and forums, positioning the company as a market leader in remittances and payments.
Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including banks, payment processors, fintechs, and retail networks.
Act as the face of MoneyGram in the Philippines, strengthening brand presence and trust in the market.
Strategic & Operational Leadership
Develop and execute the country’s business strategy, aligned with MoneyGram’s global and regional objectives.
Lead cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and ensure seamless execution.
Monitor market trends, competitive activities, and customer needs to adapt and refine strategies.
Entrepreneurial & Transformational Mindset

Key Qualifications & Experience
10+ years of experience in remittances, payments, or fintech, with a strong track record in sales, business development, and market expansion.
Deep knowledge of the Philippines remittance and payments landscape, including banks, wallets, MTOs, fintechs, and retail networks.
Strong relationships with key players in the industry, including financial institutions, regulators, and partners.
Proven ability to lead regulatory engagement and manage compliance with local financial authorities.
Exceptional sales and negotiation skills with a track record of closing high-value deals.
Strong leadership, strategic thinking, and ability to drive execution in a fast-paced environment.
Entrepreneurial mindset – ability to innovate, take ownership, and drive significant impact.
Experience representing a company in high-profile industry events and public forums.
Excellent communication skills in English and Filipino.
