About the role

We are seeking an entrepreneurial, commercially driven, and strategically minded Country Manager to lead, scale, and manage our operations in Indonesia. As the on-the-ground executive leader, you will own the local P&L and drive the adoption of our next-generation EDC payment terminals and merchant acquiring solutions across acquirers, fintech, ISO, ISV and other industry players

You will navigate Indonesia’s complex, rapidly evolving payment ecosystem and build strategic partnerships with major local banks and digital wallets (QRIS, e-wallets), in addition to scaling a high-performing local team.

What you'll do:

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategy & Commercial Leadership (P&L Ownership)

• • Define and execute the comprehensive go-to-market (GTM) strategy for the Indonesian market, ensuring alignment with global corporate objectives.
  • Own the country P&L, driving aggressive targets for revenue, gross margin, active EDC terminals deployed on rental
  • Identify new logos and expand Verifone’s footprint in the country

1. Strategic Partnerships & Ecosystem Building

• • Build and manage relationships with local acquiring banks, switching networks (GPN), and payment schemes (Visa, Mastercard, JCB).
  • Drive integration and commercial terms with major Indonesian digital wallets and local payment methods via QRIS.
  • Establish strategic relationships with POS (Point of Sale) software providers, hardware manufacturers that require payment, and distribution partners.

1. Team Leadership & Culture

• • Hire, mentor, and scale a high-performing local team across Sales, Account Management and Operations
  • Foster a high-ownership, agile, and results-oriented culture that thrives in a fast-paced fintech environment.

What qualifications will you need to be successful?

• Experience: 10+ years of professional experience, with at least 5+ years in a senior commercial leadership or general management role within fintech, merchant acquiring, digital payments, or banking tech in Indonesia.
• Domain Knowledge: Deep understanding of the EDC terminal ecosystem, payment gateways, card-present acquiring, QRIS, and local alternative payment methods (APMs).
• Network: An existing, strong network of relationships with local Indonesian banks, tier-1 merchants, and major retail conglomerates.
• Languages: Native-level fluency in Bahasa Indonesia and professional proficiency in English (written and verbal).
• Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Mindset: A builder at heart with a "founder-like" energy—comfortable dealing with ambiguity, executing hands-on tasks, and driving strategic high-visibility conversations.
