Crash Attenuating Vehicle Driver

The Crash Attenuating Vehicle Driver is responsible for mobilizing the Truck Mounted Attenuator Vehicle to and from job sites. The driver plays a critical role in work zone safety protecting work crews in traffic construction zones. The driver must be willing to assist the traffic crew on site when they are not driving.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Safely operate a Truck Mounted Attenuator vehicle.
  • Perform vehicle inspections prior to departure to the job site and when leaving job site.
  • Safely position the Truck Mounted Attenuator truck to provide the best protection for workers and equipment.
  • Set up and reposition traffic control devices as required.
  • Ability to follow instructions from Supervisors and other team members.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with Supervisors and other team members.
  • Maintain vehicle cleanliness.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with motorist.
  • Ability to use hand signals and direction signs to direct traffic around construction sites safely.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with other flaggers using handheld radios to direct traffic onto a single lane.
  • Assist in removing all signs, barricades and traffic cones upon completion of construction work.
  • Assisting in the removal of debris and rubble from job site.
