CRAWLER CRANE OPERATOR

Job Requirements:

  • Operate crawler cranes to lift, transport, and position heavy loads according to approved lifting plans.
  • Perform daily pre-start inspections and routine maintenance checks on the crane and report any defects.
  • Inspect lifting gear, wire ropes, hooks, slings, and other rigging equipment before use.
  • Follow load charts, lifting capacities, and manufacturer operating procedures.
  • Work closely with lifting supervisors, riggers, and signalmen to ensure safe lifting operations.
  • Maintain clear communication using standard hand signals and radio communication.
  • Monitor ground conditions, weather, and site hazards before and during lifting activities.
  • Ensure crane stability by setting up the crane correctly, including track positioning and counterweight configuration.
  • Complete daily operation logs, inspection records, and maintenance reports.
  • Comply with workplace safety regulations, company procedures, and project requirements.
  • Keep the crane clean and ensure it is properly secured after use.
  • Stop operations immediately if unsafe conditions are identified.

Job Requirements

  • Valid Crawler Crane Operator certification/licence as required by local authorities.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience operating crawler cranes in construction, shipyard, oil & gas, or industrial projects.
  • Good knowledge of crane load charts, lifting procedures, and safe lifting practices.
  • Familiarity with crane inspection and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to interpret lifting plans and follow work instructions accurately.
  • Physically fit and able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Strong awareness of workplace safety and hazard identification.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively with lifting teams.
  • Willing to work overtime, shifts, weekends, or at different project locations when required.
