Creator and Marketer of Experiences - Customer Service/Sales

Description

At Southwest Adventure Tours (SWAT), we don’t just book tours—we help travelers turn “Someday” into “I can’t believe we’re actually going!”

We’re looking for a Creator and Marketer of Services to join our Customer Service team and become the friendly, knowledgeable voice travelers can count on before their adventure begins.

This role is all about people. You’ll answer questions, solve problems, explain tour options, assist with reservations, and help travelers confidently choose the right experience. Whether someone is looking for a quick escape on one of our Salt Lake City Day Tours or an unforgettable multi-day Guaranteed Departure through the American West, you’ll help them move from curious browser to excited traveler.

This isn’t a high-pressure, sell-at-all-costs position. It’s consultative sales powered by outstanding customer service. You’ll listen carefully, recommend the right tour, explain what guests can expect, and make the booking process feel easy. When plans change or something gets complicated, you’ll bring the patience, resourcefulness, and calm needed to get things back on track.

One conversation might involve helping a first-time visitor choose between Antelope Island and the Bonneville Salt Flats. The next could involve walking a couple through the details of a multi-day national park adventure, processing a reservation, answering a payment question, or helping an existing guest prepare for departure.

You’ll work a four-day schedule consisting of extended shifts and participate in the weekend rotation at least once per month. That schedule gives you three days off most weeks—but while you’re on, you’re fully engaged and ready to take care of our travelers.

If you genuinely enjoy helping people, communicate clearly, stay composed when the unexpected happens, and know how to turn “I’m just looking” into “Let’s book it,” we want to meet you.

Bring the personality. Bring the patience. Bring the sales instinct. We’ll provide the adventures worth talking about.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who’s as excited about adventure travel as we are and can bring:

  • Customer Service-Oriented with a keen ear and a desire to assist every guest that calls or emails.

  • Proven sales experience ideally in travel, tourism, hospitality, or a related industry.

  • Relationship-building skills that make clients want to work with you again and again.

  • Strong organizational skills for juggling emails, follow-ups, and sales calls without missing a beat.

  • Exciting and Incurably motivated to wow our guests with our itineraries and fit their unique needs.

  • Comfort with technology from CRM systems and proposal design tools to Microsoft Office/Google Workspace.

  • Industry savviness or the willingness to learn quickly about destinations, hotels, attractions, activities, and the Southwest’s natural and cultural history.

  • A professional, proactive, and collaborative attitude.

Benefits

Working at SWAT is more than answering phones, emails, and processing reservations. You’ll join a close-knit team that takes excellent care of its travelers, supports one another, and believes work should be both meaningful and enjoyable.

Here’s what you can expect:

  • Competitive hourly pay plus commission: Deliver exceptional service, help travelers find the right adventure, and earn more when your recommendations turn into bookings.

  • A four-day workweek: Work four extended shifts each week and enjoy three days off most weeks. The schedule includes at least one weekend rotation per month.

  • Company benefits: Eligible employees may participate in SWAT’s benefits program in accordance with plan requirements.

  • A culture built on trust and accountability: We give you room to do your job, make decisions, solve problems, and take ownership of the customer experience.

  • Employee discounts: Explore SWAT tours and activities at a discounted rate—because selling adventure is much easier when you’ve experienced it yourself.

  • Travel-industry experience: Build valuable knowledge of destinations, national parks, tour operations, guest service, and adventure travel.

  • Real opportunities to grow: Strengthen your customer-service, sales, systems, and tourism expertise while contributing to a growing company.

  • A voice that matters: We welcome practical ideas that improve the booking experience, strengthen customer relationships, and help the team operate more effectively.

  • Work with people who care: Our team is serious about delivering excellent service—but we still believe in enjoying the ride.

You won’t be another headset in a call center. You’ll be one of the people who helps turn questions, uncertainty, and “maybe someday” into a booked adventure someone will remember for years.
