Job Overview
We are looking for a commercial and structured Credit Control Team Leader to run our international collections and debt management operations. You will lead a dedicated team to minimize Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), manage multi-currency risks, and ensure a seamless financial experience for our global students, corporate clients, and partner agencies.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Delivery
Lead and mentor a multicultural credit control team, conducting weekly performance reviews and training.
Set and track KPIs for cash collection, aging balance reduction, and query resolution times.
Coordinate workflow distribution to guarantee coverage across different time zones and global regions.
Act as the escalation point for high-value accounts, complex international payment disputes, and legal collections.
International Ledger & Risk Management
Oversee multi-currency ledgers (GBP, USD, EUR, CHF) across international entities.
Assess creditworthiness for B2B partners, global corporate accounts, and language travel agencies.
Review and release blocked student enrollments or bookings based on strict credit policy guidelines.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Process Optimization
Partner with Sales Managers, Student Advisors and Regional Directors to resolve billing disputes swiftly.
Manage agency accounts, working closely with ESL education portfolios and worldwide educational partners.
Drive automation in our billing and collection systems to streamline automated payment reminders.
Provide accurate forecasts on cash collections and monthly bad debt provisions to senior finance leadership.
Requirements & Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, or a related field.
3+ years of experience in credit control, ideally within the international education, tourism, or hospitality sectors.
1+ years of experience in a supervisory, team leader, or senior credit controller role.
Skills & Competencies
Language skills: Professional fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in French, German, or Spanish is a strong advantage to support regional offices.
Systems knowledge: Proficiency in global ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Strong understanding of student visa refund policies, multi-currency processing, and global B2B agency commission structures.
Soft skills: Exceptional cross-cultural communication, firm negotiation skills, and a student-centric approach to problem-solving.
