DHL Global Forwarding Madagascar has an opening for a Credit Controller where you will be responsible for serving as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Credit Management and collection processes. You will leverage your functional expertise to apply appropriate levels of judgment and decision-making in managing credit risk and collections activities. You may also act as a consultant to senior management within your area of expertise. In this role, you will work closely with the Financial Controller to ensure compliance with Order-to-Cash (OTC) policies, support effective credit management practices, and drive collections efforts, particularly for complex, high-risk, and legal debtor accounts. In this Credit Controller position
- You will ensure compliance with OTC (Order-to-Cash) policy and credit management processes, including controlling the release of entries for accounts on hold.
- You will assist with the collection of key accounts, with a focus on “risky” or potentially legal accounts allocated to your portfolio.
- You will execute, in conjunction with the Shared Service Centre team, the strategy for the OTC process.
- You will act as a relationship builder across internal functions to support effective collaboration and process execution.
- You will support compliance with policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to the OTC policy.
- You will develop and maintain effective working relationships with customers from a finance perspective.
- You will directly facilitate the resolution of internal and external disputes and queries.
- You will coordinate with legal counsel, where necessary, for the collection and recovery of legal debtor accounts.
Now, here’s what we need from you
- Excellent knowledge of credit and collection processes.
- Good knowledge of local legal requirements, including the legal requirements of tax invoices.
- High degree of conceptual and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written), with fluency in English.
- Experience working with an outsourced team will be an advantage
- Education: Matric, Diploma in Finance or equivalent qualification is beneficial
- At least 5 years of experience in related field.
