Credit Manager (Policy)

You will design credit policies and underwriting strategies for retail lending, validate underwriting approaches, manage limits and pricing, adjust risk-return requirements, monitor credit KPIs, support planning, improve operations, and maintain strong risk governance.
Responsibilities
- Develop account-level valuation and credit underwriting policies
- Use NPV frameworks to improve portfolio returns
- Make data-driven marginal decisions
- Manage credit limits risk-based pricing retention strategies and over-limit policies
- Adjust risk-return requirements as new data emerges
- Support budgeting forecasting and planning
- Monitor credit KPIs and initiative performance
- Identify inefficiencies and implement small-scale changes
- Maintain approval and ratings from risk functions and regulators
Requirements
- Experience managing the risk cycle for retail credit products
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or analytical field
- Understanding of credit policy governance and lines of defence
- Knowledge of credit and behavioral scoring models
- Knowledge of the German housing and mortgage market
- Ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Ability to balance speed to market with business needs
- Master's degree is beneficial
- Working knowledge of SQL R Python or other data analysis tools is beneficial
- Willingness to learn new technology is beneficial
