SUMMARY
The Credit Risk Analyst supports the objectives of the Credit Management Division by performing a variety of functions related to loan and data analytics, credit risk assessment and stress testing, credit workflows and processes, and the implementation of COSO and SOX controls. This role also involves maintaining and enhancing the loan accounting system and reports, as well as contributing to other credit data-related projects. The analyst works as an integral member of the Bank’s Credit Risk Analytics team and collaborates closely with the Bank’s Credit Risk Officer(s).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and deliver analyses for internal and external stakeholders. Extract data from Power BI, Business Analytics, and other sources. Summarize and interpret large datasets in a meaningful and actionable format. Conduct daily data quality reviews and produce reports according to established deadlines and ad hoc requests, while managing multiple priorities.
- Develop and maintain models to assess and monitor the Bank’s loan portfolio. Collaborate with colleagues on the preparation and execution of Moody’s CMM, RiskCalc, Challenger Models for stress testing, the DCR model, and other compliance-related modeling tasks. Ensure accurate documentation of system and model changes, and follow established procedures to maintain data and system integrity.
- Support regulatory examinations and internal audits by assisting and interfacing with examiners and auditors.
- Utilize and support other systems as needed to fulfill departmental objectives.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on loan source system data. Educate team members on data usage, metadata, and data standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and drive cost efficiencies through automation and streamlining of reports to eliminate redundancy and duplication.
- Evaluate current processes and modeling tools, identify areas for improvement, and oversee the implementation of corrective actions within areas of responsibility.
- Act as a liaison between the Credit and IT departments during the implementation of new programs or software. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of business unit requirements and IT capabilities.
- Recommend and establish standards, guidelines, and procedures to enhance system and reporting efficiency.
- Design, maintain, and ensure the accuracy and usability of the credit process procedure manual.
- Develop, update, and maintain internal control procedures, compliance programs, and related documentation. Ensure departmental compliance policies and procedures are current and accurate.
- Complies with, and stays abreast of, all policies and procedures, federal and state laws applicable to the job.
- Provide, present, and promote the Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
COMPUTER & SOFTWARE SKILLS
High-level skills and proficiency with various software and database applications, including Excel suite, Access, and others. Use of R, Python or VBA highly encouraged.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
- Working knowledge of credit risk models such as Moody’s CMM, RiskCalc, and Challenger Models; ability to support model preparation and documentation.
- Ability to query and manipulate data using SQL or similar tools to support reporting and analysis.
- Experience in automating recurring reports and streamlining reporting processes to improve efficiency.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement in data and processes.
- High level of accuracy in data validation, documentation, and reporting.
- Understanding of internal control frameworks such as COSO and SOX, with the ability to support compliance documentation and procedures.
- Comfortable working with teams across departments, including Credit, IT, and Compliance.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
- Able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience supporting system or model implementations, including testing and documentation.

Salary Range:$26.52 To $36.47 Hourly
