The Crew Manager plays a critical leadership role in driving the success of our Installation team through coaching, development, operational excellence, and a commitment to outstanding customer experiences. This position leads and supports installation crews by providing training, mentorship, and field guidance while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Crew Manager collaborates closely with Install Project Managers, Warehouse teams, and Installation crews to maximize productivity, strengthen team performance, and deliver exceptional results. Through strong leadership, strategic planning, and a focus on continuous improvement, the Crew Manager helps build a high-performing team culture that supports employee growth, operational success, and customer satisfaction.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruit, interview, onboard, train, coach, and develop Installation team members to build a high-performing and engaged workforce.
- Foster employee growth through ongoing training, mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings and performance reviews to support employee success and career progression.
- Develop crew capabilities to increase installation capacity and proficiency on complex project types.
- Train team members on installation best practices, safety standards, company processes, technology, software, tools, and equipment.
- Optimize crew schedules and workforce allocation to maximize productivity, efficiency, geographic coverage, and installation capacity.
- Partner with Install Project Managers (IPMs) and Warehouse teams to ensure labor, materials, and resources are aligned with project requirements and timelines.
- Maintain a strong field presence by conducting regular jobsite visits to provide coaching, quality assurance, and operational support.
- Serve as a trusted resource for Installation teams and IPMs by providing timely guidance, problem-solving assistance, and technical expertise.
- Promote exceptional installation quality by ensuring adherence to company standards, best practices, and customer expectations.
- Support effective workforce management through oversight of timecards, PTO requests, attendance, scheduling, and overtime management.
- Monitor and improve key performance indicators (KPIs), including Install Capacity, First-Time-Through percentage, customer satisfaction (NPS), and other operational metrics.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of installation documentation, checklists, post-installation paperwork, and project communications.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify improvement opportunities related to materials, processes, and installation quality.
- Foster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, craftsmanship, teamwork, and outstanding customer experiences throughout all installation operations.
