Job Summary
Manage work pass applications and employment agreements for marine crew, ensuring compliance with regulations and smooth coordination with overseas teams and local clients to support crew administration and payroll processes.
Responsibilities
- Process and apply for work passes for marine employees working within port limits, ensuring full compliance with Ministry of Manpower procedures.
- processing of visa and other formalities relating to the joining crew
- Verify educational qualifications and coordinate pre-employment medicals for crew members to meet regulatory standards.
- Administer security bonds and insurance documentation related to work pass applications.
- Prepare and manage Seafarer Employment Agreements accurately for crew members.
- Collaborate with overseas Crewing Teams to ensure documentation compliance and timely processing.
- Liaise with local clients and agents to monitor progress of work pass applications and resolve operational issues.
- Update and maintain employee records in the Crewing system software to ensure data accuracy.
- Track and update spreadsheets for all employees and contractors’ work passes and exemptions for effective monitoring.
- Monitor monthly payroll processing and calculate leave balances for crew members to support accurate compensation.
- Oversee work pass cancellations and report to IRAS promptly for tax computation purposes.
- Utilize knowledge of MPA systems and harbor craft vessel handling to support operational tasks (preferred).
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Knowledge of MPA system and harbor craft vessel handling is advantageous for operational support
- Good computer operating skills including word processing and spreadsheet experience
- ability to engage and interact with people at all levels
- Good organizational and planning skills.
- Proven ability to work to, and meet, tight deadlines.
- Relevant experience in a similar role preferably in Subsea/Marine/Offshore Construction Industry will be advantageous
