Crewing Manager
Job Description
- Lead and manage the end-to-end crewing operations for the company's fleet, ensuring vessels are manned with qualified and competent personnel in accordance with international maritime regulations and company requirements.
- Develop and implement crewing strategies to maintain optimal crew availability, cost efficiency, and operational readiness.
- Oversee recruitment, selection, deployment, rotation, and repatriation of seafarers while ensuring compliance with STCW, MLC 2006, flag state, and client requirements.
- Manage crew certification, licenses, medical examinations, visas, travel arrangements, and training records to ensure full regulatory compliance.
- Supervise crew performance evaluations, career development, succession planning, and retention programs to build a highly competent workforce.
- Coordinate with vessel masters, marine operations, technical, QHSE, and project teams to ensure timely crew mobilization and uninterrupted vessel operations.
- Establish and monitor crewing budgets, manpower planning, and workforce allocation to optimize operational efficiency.
- Ensure all crew documentation, contracts, payroll data, and personnel records are maintained accurately and confidentially.
- Handle crew welfare matters, disciplinary cases, grievances, and conflict resolution while promoting a positive working environment onboard and ashore.
- Develop and improve crewing policies, procedures, and standard operating practices to align with industry best practices and organizational objectives.
- Support internal and external audits, inspections, and client assessments related to crewing and personnel management.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to crew utilization, retention, competency, training compliance, and recruitment effectiveness.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with maritime authorities, training institutions, manning agencies, and other external stakeholders.
- Provide regular reports and strategic recommendations to senior management regarding manpower planning, workforce performance, compliance status, and operational improvements.
