Role Overview
We are looking for experienced US-based criminal law attorneys to review legal documents and case materials, assess AI-generated legal content, and contribute realistic scenarios, arguments, and analyses. The work may cover criminal law, criminal procedure, prosecution and defense strategy, court filings, evidentiary issues, and legal reasoning. No previous AI experience is required; practical criminal-law expertise is the key requirement.
CONTRACT: Freelance contractor, project-based
COMMITMENT: Flexible, based on project workload
LOCATIONS: Fully remote, United States
PROCESS: Application review, legal expertise assessment (AI-led), onboarding
HOURLY RATE: $140 - $400/h
NOTES: An active license to practice law and substantial criminal-law experience are required.
Responsibilities
- Review and analyze criminal-law documents, court filings, and case materials.
- Evaluate AI-generated legal content for accuracy, clarity, completeness, and ethical compliance.
- Draft, edit, or annotate realistic criminal-law scenarios, arguments, and legal analyses.
- Identify nuanced legal issues, procedural considerations, and areas where additional context is required.
- Review factual and legal reasoning across prosecution and defense scenarios.
- Flag inaccurate, misleading, outdated, or legally unsupported conclusions.
- Explain complex criminal-law concepts in clear and precise written language.
- Provide concise and actionable feedback to improve AI-generated legal outputs.
- Track relevant statutory, procedural, and case-law developments when needed for assigned work.
- Collaborate remotely with legal, research, and project teams on evaluation requirements.
Requirements
- Active license to practice law in a recognized jurisdiction.
- Substantial professional experience in criminal law and criminal procedure.
- Professional experience representing clients, prosecuting cases, or otherwise handling criminal matters.
- Strong knowledge of court procedure, legal reasoning, evidentiary issues, and case analysis.
- Experience reviewing or drafting court filings, legal arguments, opinions, or case summaries.
- Ability to analyze complex legal fact patterns and identify relevant legal issues.
