Job Summary:

This position is responsible for cutting and flattening crush samples to verify the quality of the weld as well as cropping any pipe with visible defects

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Cut off pipe for Crusher Test as required.
  • Report results of Crush Test to Quality Control, Mill Operator, Team Leader and Supervisor.
  • Cut out open seam, bad OD and ID and any other defects in the pipe.
  • Change saw blades as needed.
  • Record length of scrap cut.
  • Assist all mill changes.
  • Inform manager of any problems with equipment or product.
  • Assist Maintenance with minor repairs.
