CSA Designer

JOB SUMMARY

HGA is seeking a Civil Designer for a direct-hire position in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. This role performs a variety of civil drafting and design duties with minimal supervision, preparing drawings in accordance with established drafting standards and developing work from conceptual layouts through detailed final designs. The position requires a general understanding of civil engineering design principles and practices, including experience with concrete foundations, steel structures, and general civil design. The Civil Designer is capable of handling engineering-related assignments based on education and/or experience but does not hold an engineering degree. Key Responsibilities Produce neat, accurate, and legible construction drawing packages in accordance with company procedures and drafting standards Work with minimal supervision while maintaining a high level of accuracy, thoroughness, and attention to detail Assume responsibility for the technical accuracy and constructability of completed designs Obtain accurate field data Interpret general design information and engineering calculations Collaborate effectively with multiple disciplines with limited oversight Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Basic knowledge of civil engineering design principles and practices Ability to conduct research into project-related issues and products Must be located within daily commuting distance of Baton Rouge, Louisiana Preferred Qualifications Technical school or college education Minimum of 13 years of experience in civil design and drafting using AutoCAD Experience with a consulting engineering firm Experience working on industrial projects Equal Opportunity Employer/Veterans/Disabled
