Rate of Pay: $33.83/hour + DOE

Summary
Performs preventative maintenance and related maintenance duties as assigned. Assists Engineers and Electrician with projects and assignments. Performs maintenance duties making minor repairs/ modifications. Performs grounds maintenance and snow removal. Performs painting and floor care as necessary in all District facilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Monitors and performs tasks on all Life Safety equipment as assigned.
  • Monitors and performs tasks on all Life Safety equipment as assigned.
  • Performs test runs of emergency generating plant as per state requirements as assigned.
  • Performs routine maintenance and repairs to plumbing, light fixtures and HVAC.
  • Participates as directed in preventative maintenance program on all mechanical and electrical equipment by periodic inspection and lubrication.
  • Maintains and performs minor repairs on water, sewage systems and water treatment systems for all district steam, heating, cooling and domestic systems.
  • Maintains and preforms minor repairs on boilers, heating equipment, gas distribution lines and all types of motors and engines.
  • Maintains, and preforms minor repairs to life safety equipment and systems (nurse call, fire alarm, emergency power, etc.).
  • Makes minor repairs of metal or wood objects as necessary.
  • Participates in work order/projects request program.
  • Makes repairs or alterations to roof, windows, walls, doors, floors and foundation, etc. of buildings.
  • Operates District motor vehicles.
  • Performs all assigned safety and fire checks.
  • Periodically checks and maintains fire extinguisher and sprinkler systems.
  • Applies most cost-effective measures when determining whether repairs or replacement is necessary and in utilization of materials and efficient use of time.
  • Performs daily equipment rounds as assigned
  • Responds to house calls and performs weekend duties.
  • Recognizes and corrects any safety compliance issues.
  • Communicates with Engineers regarding equipment problems and work assignments.
  • Maintains work areas orderly, clean and safe.
  • Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
  • Complies with System policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Minimum Education/Experience
Certificate of completion from college or vocational school Technical Trade School related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience or 3 or more years relevant experience

Required Licenses/Certifications
Valid Driver's License in good standing
