The Opportunity
St Francis of Assisi College is seeking a caring, capable, and proactive Education Support Officer – Curriculum to join our learning community.
Working collaboratively with teachers, you will play a key role in supporting student learning, engagement, and wellbeing while helping to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment for all students.
This is a rewarding, student-focused role for someone who enjoys working collaboratively with teachers, building positive relationships with students, and making a meaningful difference in the learning journey of young people.

Key responsibilities include;

Assisting teachers in the preparation, implementation, and supervision of classroom learning activities and intervention programs.

Supporting students with identified learning needs, including those with Personalised Plans for Learning (PPLs), under the direction of the classroom teacher.

Assisting with the evaluation of student learning needs and contributing to strategies that support student engagement and achievement.

Applying initiative and judgement to suggest appropriate adjustments or modifications to educational programs to meet the needs of individual students.

Supporting students in developing positive learning behaviours, social interactions, and engagement in classroom activities.

Assisting teachers with supervision and care of students during excursions, sporting activities, camps, and other school events.

Supporting students requiring additional physical assistance or specialised care, where appropriate.

Assisting students in completing assignments and classroom tasks and encouraging successful participation in learning activities.

Assisting teachers in sourcing and preparing educational resources, learning materials, and learning support tools.

Actively participating in school activities, staff meetings, professional learning, and required training.

About You
We are seeking someone who:

Demonstrates experience working effectively with school-aged students, including supporting students with diverse learning and wellbeing needs.

Has strong interpersonal and communication skills and can build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and caregivers.

Demonstrates a sound understanding of inclusive education practices and positive behaviour support strategies.

Is able to work independently with minimal supervision while effectively collaborating as part of a teaching and learning team.

Brings initiative, problem-solving skills, and the ability to analyse situations and respond appropriately to student needs.

Possesses excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise competing tasks.

Is confident using computers, educational technologies, and Microsoft Office applications.

Maintains a high level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.

Demonstrates flexibility and the ability to respond effectively to unexpected situations and changing priorities.

Is committed to ongoing professional learning and development.

Actively supports the Catholic ethos, values, and safeguarding culture of the College.

Certificate IV in Education Support (or equivalent) and/or demonstrated experience in a comparable role.

Holds a current Working with Children Check (WWCC) clearance to work in Catholic Education South Australia (or is willing to obtain).

Holds current certification in Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect in Education and Care Settings (or is willing to obtain).

Holds a First Aid qualification (or is willing to obtain) as directed by the College.

Demonstrates a commitment to the CESA Code of Conduct, Charter for Staff in Catholic Schools, and Work Health and Safety requirements.
