JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for an experienced Custom Software Engineer with strong expertise in IBM Db2 and Natural to develop, enhance, and support custom software solutions in a dynamic technology environment.
The role will focus on designing, coding, optimizing, troubleshooting, and enhancing software components across systems and applications. The ideal candidate should have strong IBM Db2 experience, hands-on knowledge of Natural, SQL and database optimization, and the ability to work with multiple teams using modern software development and Agile practices.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Design, develop, code, enhance, and maintain custom software solutions using IBM Db2, Natural, SQL, and related technologies.
• Collaborate with multiple teams and act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing technical solutions and contributing to key project and team decisions.
• Perform database design, optimization, SQL development, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex technical issues.
• Participate in project planning, estimation, solution design, and delivery activities while following Agile and established software development practices.
• Mentor team members, facilitate knowledge sharing, identify process improvement opportunities, and implement technical best practices to improve team efficiency and solution quality.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience working with IBM Db2.
• Strong proficiency in IBM Db2 is mandatory.
• Hands-on experience with Natural is mandatory.
• Strong understanding of database design, optimization, SQL development, and performance tuning.
• Experience troubleshooting and resolving complex technical issues in software or database environments.
• Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies and modern development practices.
• Ability to work as a technical SME and collaborate effectively with multiple teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical mentoring skills.
• Willingness to work onsite in Manila on a shifting schedule.
• Willingness to travel when required for client or project engagements.
