Custom Software Engineer - IBM Information Management System (IMS) Database

Salary: ₱50,000 – ₱75,000 per month

As an Application Lead, you will serve as the primary point of contact for the design, construction, and configuration of core enterprise applications. You will combine deep technical expertise with leadership to guide teams, drive critical architecture decisions, and collaborate across cross-functional groups to ensure stable, high-quality, and timely project delivery.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Technical Leadership & Governance: Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for application design and database structures, implementing best practices throughout the development lifecycle.

• Team & Project Management: Lead, mentor, and manage the immediate application team to drive performance and ensure on-time delivery of projects.

• Decision-Making & Strategy: Act as the primary technical contact, making key architectural decisions for the team and contributing to high-level decisions across partner teams.

• Problem Resolution: Architect and deliver end-to-end solutions for complex technical issues within your team and across broader organizational business units.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner effectively with multi-disciplinary technical teams and business stakeholders to align deliverables with organizational goals.

Professional & Technical Skills

• Primary Skill: Expert proficiency in IBM Information Management System (IMS) Database administration, design, and optimization.

• Database Management: Deep understanding of enterprise Database Management Systems (DBMS), performance tuning, and schema optimization.

• Data Querying & Manipulation: Advanced proficiency in SQL and relational/hierarchical database querying techniques.

• Security & Compliance: Comprehensive knowledge of data security, privacy protocols, and regulatory compliance standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• Work Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience specializing in IBM Information Management System (IMS) Database.

• Leadership Track Record: Proven experience leading technical teams, driving project timelines, and solving cross-team issues.

• Location Requirement: Must be based in or willing to work at our Manila office.
