As a Custom Software Engineering Lead, a typical day involves overseeing the technical vision and architectural framework of bespoke software projects. This role requires guiding teams through the entire lifecycle of software design and implementation, ensuring that development practices meet high standards. The position demands active involvement in aligning technical solutions with organizational goals, fostering collaboration among team members, and driving the delivery of scalable and efficient software products. Continuous evaluation of project progress and adaptation to evolving requirements are integral to the daily responsibilities.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Expected to be an SME, collaborate and manage the team to perform.
- Responsible for team decisions.
- Engage with multiple teams and contribute on key decisions.
- Provide solutions to problems for their immediate team and across multiple teams.
- Lead the establishment and enforcement of development standards to maintain code quality and system performance.
- Facilitate communication between technical teams and business stakeholders to ensure alignment of objectives.
- Mentor junior team members to support their professional growth and enhance team capabilities.
Designs and maintains enterprise conceptual, logical, and physical data models for data warehouses, data lakes, and operational databases. Defines modeling standards and naming conventions. Implements data governance, metadata management, and data quality frameworks within models. Optimizes model performance via indexing and partitioning. Evaluates emerging modeling methodologies and communicates design rationale to stakeholders.
Professional & Technical Skills:
- Must To Have Skills: Proficiency in Data Modeling Techniques and Methodologies, IBM InfoSphere DataStage, Snowflake Data Warehouse.
Conceptual, logical & physical data modeling
Dimensional modeling: star schema, snowflake schema, data vault
Modeling tools: Erwin, IBM InfoSphere Data Architect, SAP PowerDesigner, ER/Studio
SQL: DDL, complex queries, performance optimization
Cloud data platforms: Snowflake, Databricks, Azure Synapse, BigQuery, Redshift
Data governance, metadata management & lineage tracking
ETL/ELT integration: Azure Data Factory, Informatica, dbt
Good to have :
BI platforms: Power BI, Tableau, Looker
Version control for data modeling artifacts
Experience in pharma/healthcare
Master's in CS/Data Science
- Strong expertise in designing and implementing data models that support complex business requirements.
- Experience with data integration and transformation processes to ensure seamless data flow across systems.
- Ability to optimize data storage and retrieval for performance and scalability.
- Familiarity with cloud-based data warehousing solutions and their architectural considerations.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues to maintain system reliability.
Additional Information:
- The candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in Data Modeling Techniques and Methodologies.
- This position is based at our Pune office.
- A 15 years full time education is required.
