As a Customer Service Associate, you will be the primary point of contact for customers with overdue accounts. Your primary responsibility will be to establish positive relationships with these customers, understand their financial situations, and work collaboratively to develop tailored payment solutions. This role requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and the ability to negotiate effectively.
  • Contact customers with outstanding debts to discuss their financial situation and payment options.
  • Negotiate and agree on realistic payment plans, considering the customer's ability to pay.
  • Maintain accurate records of all customer interactions and payment arrangements.
  • Provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive and professional experience.
  • Identify and escalate potential fraud or abuse cases as per company policy.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure a seamless customer experience.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and best practices in debt collection.
  • Adhere to all legal and ethical guidelines for debt collection practices.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide regular updates on collection progress.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in customer service or a related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution abilities.
  • Empathy and a customer-centric approach.
  • Ability to work independently and manage a high volume of cases.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar software.
  • Basic knowledge of debt collection laws and regulations.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
