The Customer Solutions Manager serves as a strategic consultant and solutions engineer, developing customized warehousing solutions that improve customer performance, efficiency, cost control, and operational effectiveness. This role analyzes customer requirements, designs warehouse operating models, develops pricing and costing proposals, manages projects, and supports successful implementation. Using practical knowledge of warehouse operations, labor and space planning, inventory flow, productivity standards, and cost modeling, the Customer Solutions Manager identifies opportunities that strengthen customer operations and support MEDLOG’s growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer warehousing operations and data to identify opportunities for facility optimization, improved inventory flow, labor and space efficiency, cost reduction, service improvement, and operational efficiency.
- Develop and present marketable warehousing solutions supported by data analysis, cost modeling, productivity assumptions, storage and throughput requirements, simulations, and operational insights.
- Lead warehouse solution design, costing and pricing development, proposal preparation, project management, and implementation support for new and existing customer opportunities.
- Partner with MEDLOG Sales to identify warehousing growth opportunities and communicate clear value propositions, including operating assumptions, pricing rationale, efficiency gains, cost savings, and service-quality improvements for strategic customers.
- Design innovative warehousing solutions across receiving, put-away, storage, inventory control, replenishment, picking, packing, value-added services, and outbound operations.
- Develop warehouse productivity initiatives and recommend continuous improvement strategies for labor utilization, space utilization, inventory accuracy, throughput, and internal processes.
- Build detailed warehouse cost models, business cases, pricing recommendations, and expected profit-and-loss projections for new opportunities, including labor, space, equipment, systems, and operating expenses.
- Use Microsoft Power BI, Access, and Excel to analyze warehouse data, develop costing models and productivity insights, and support customer recommendations.
- Coordinate effectively with customers, Sales, Warehouse Operations, Finance, and other stakeholders while managing multiple projects and priorities.
- Prepare and deliver clear, professional presentations to internal teams and customers.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of warehouse operating plans, costing assumptions, implementation documents, and standard operating procedures.
- Travel based on customer and project needs, approximately 30% to 40%.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, Finance, Analytics, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of practical experience in warehouse operations, warehouse solution design, costing, pricing, industrial engineering, or logistics solutions.
- Strong working knowledge of warehouse operations, including labor planning, space utilization, inventory flow, productivity measurement, material handling, and value-added services.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS); exposure to Yard Management Systems (YMS), labor management systems, or related warehouse technologies is preferred.
- Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting warehouse data for cost modeling, capacity planning, engineered or operational productivity assumptions, process improvement, or facility redesign initiatives.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience using business intelligence or analytical tools, preferably Microsoft Power BI and Access.
- Ability to identify customer warehousing needs and translate operational and financial findings into practical, customer-focused solutions.
- Experience developing warehouse cost models, pricing proposals, business cases, financial projections, or expected profit-and-loss statements for new opportunities.
- Strong warehouse solution design, costing, project management, continuous improvement, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent presentation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to organize multiple priorities, work cross-functionally, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
