Senior Account Executive – Cybersecurity
Focus: New Logo Acquisition | Cybersecurity | Third-Party Risk
The Opportunity
The Company is a growing cybersecurity organization helping small and mid-sized businesses strengthen their overall security posture and reduce business risk. The company takes a consultative, holistic approach to cybersecurity, combining technology, advisory expertise, ongoing risk assessment, and security services rather than focusing on a single point solution.
As the company continues to expand, they are looking to add an experienced Senior Account Executive who can drive new-logo growth and help further develop the company's presence in the market.
This is an opportunity for an entrepreneurial salesperson who understands cybersecurity, knows how to create opportunities rather than simply work inbound leads, and is comfortable engaging business and technology executives around risk.
In addition to its core cybersecurity offering, the company is expanding a third-party cyber risk solution designed to help larger organizations assess, monitor, and improve the cybersecurity posture of the vendors and suppliers within their ecosystem.
What You'll Be Responsible For
- Drive New-Logo Revenue: Build and close new business through strategic prospecting, direct outreach, referrals, events, existing relationships, and partner-generated opportunities.
- Own the Full Sales Cycle: Manage opportunities from initial outreach and discovery through solution positioning, presentation, negotiation, and close.
- Sell Consultatively: Engage executives around cybersecurity from a business-risk perspective, understand their current environment and vulnerabilities, and position appropriate solutions and services.
- Develop Third-Party Risk Opportunities: Identify organizations that need greater visibility into the cybersecurity posture of their vendors, suppliers, and other third parties and help build opportunities around third-party risk management.
- Build Channel Relationships: Develop and manage referral, channel, and strategic partner relationships that can create new opportunities and extend the company's market reach.
- Develop Your Own Market: Operate with significant autonomy and identify creative ways to build relationships and generate revenue.
- Maintain a Strategic Pipeline: Build and manage a healthy pipeline, maintain accurate forecasts and CRM activity, and consistently move qualified opportunities through the sales process.
- Collaborate Internally: Work directly with leadership and internal teams to develop opportunities, refine solutions, and ensure a smooth transition of new clients after the sale.
The Profile We're Looking For
The ideal candidate is an established hunter who already understands sales methodology and can operate independently. This isn't a role designed to teach someone how to prospect, qualify, or manage a complex B2B sales cycle.
We're particularly interested in candidates with:
- 4–10+ years of B2B sales experience, ideally within cybersecurity, technology, risk management, IT services, managed services, or another complex solution environment.
- A demonstrated history of new-logo acquisition and building business through proactive prospecting.
- The ability to discuss cybersecurity and risk in a business context with executive-level decision makers.
- Experience selling a combination of technology, advisory, professional services, or ongoing services, rather than exclusively transactional products.
- A strategic, consultative approach to discovery and solution selling.
- Experience developing business through channel partners, referral relationships, strategic alliances, and personal networks.
- The ability to operate autonomously and create opportunities without relying heavily on inbound lead flow or extensive pre-sales resources.
- Strong executive communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- An entrepreneurial mindset and interest in helping grow an emerging cybersecurity business.
Particularly Relevant Experience
Candidates with direct exposure to any of the following will be especially compelling:
Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) • Vendor Risk Management • Cyber Risk Assessments • Supply-Chain Risk • Cybersecurity Ratings/Scoring • Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC) • Security Advisory/Consulting • vCISO Services • Cybersecurity Assessments • Security Awareness & Training • Professional or Managed Security Services
Experience selling third-party or supplier cybersecurity risk solutions is particularly valuable, but isn't an absolute requirement for an otherwise strong cybersecurity hunter.
Territory & Work Environment
The position will have broad opportunity to develop business without being confined to a narrowly defined local territory.
The environment is best suited for someone who enjoys autonomy, direct access to leadership, and the opportunity to influence how a growing organization takes its solutions to market.
