Summary
A senior cybersecurity advisor role in Canberra working on enterprise security programs for defense, national security and critical-infrastructure clients. Day to day: lead GRC and accreditation work, maintain risk registers and security documentation, plan incident response and threat analysis using MITRE ATT&CK, and run post-incident reviews and security assessments.
Salary: $160,000 – $200,000 per year
About the role
As a Cyber Security Advisor, you will play a crucial role in delivering enterprise security programs across defense, critical infrastructure, mission systems security, and sovereign capability.
What you'll be doing
Leading Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) initiatives, developing and maintaining critical security documentation across multiple high-assurance programs, supporting certification, accreditation, and risk-based decision making aligned with Australian Government and international security frameworks
Development of security risk management plans, maintenance of risk register, implementation of risk management policy and procedure
Incident Response and threat landscape planning, identifying emerging risks and analysing systems for vulnerabilities against state level threats using MITRE ATT&CK frameworks
Conduct post-incident reviews and comprehensive cyber security and systems assessments
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience in a cybersecurity advisory GRC or technical SOC role
Strong technical expertise in areas such as network security, endpoint protection, cloud security
In-depth knowledge of security frameworks, standards, and best practices (ISM, DSPF, PSPF NIST, ISO, Essential 8)
Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with technical and non-technical audiences
Critical thinking and problem-solving capabilities in often high-pressure secure environments
Relevant certifications, such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, CRISC, IRAP, ISO Lead Auditor are highly desirable
