ABOUT THE ROLE - NGĀ ĀHUATANGA O TE TŪRANGA

As our Cyber Security Analyst, you'll play a key role in protecting the people, systems and information that enable Taupō District Council to deliver for our community. This is a hands-on and influential role where you'll help strengthen our cyber resilience, support safe and secure digital services, and contribute to a security culture that is practical, people-focused and future-ready.

You'll support key cyber security activities, including threat detection, incident response, vulnerability management, monitoring, awareness and continuous improvement. You'll also work with teams across Council to provide clear, practical guidance that helps people work safely and confidently.

This is an exciting time to join our growing Digital Platform and Security team, shape a new role and influence how cyber security is embedded across Council. If you enjoy solving problems, learning and meaningful work, this role offers challenge, variety and room to grow.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR - KEI TE KIMI MĀTOU I TĒNEI MOMO TANGATA

We're looking for someone curious, proactive and passionate about making cyber security practical and valuable.

You'll take a thoughtful, practical approach to identifying risks, investigating issues and improving security controls, while helping others understand what good security looks like day to day.

You'll communicate clearly, build strong relationships across technical and non-technical teams, and bring sound judgement, a learning mindset and a drive to keep growing your cyber capability.

This role would suit an experienced cyber security professional, or someone with a strong technical foundation ready to specialise and help shape a more secure digital future for Council and our community.
