Cyber Security Analyst

Salary: £62,400 - 62,400 per year

Requirements:

• Previous experience working as a Cyber Security Analyst.
• Strong experience using Microsoft Sentinel for alert monitoring, investigation, and incident management.
• Good understanding of Microsoft security technologies, including Microsoft Defender and Microsoft 365 security controls.
• Experience investigating cyber incidents such as phishing attacks, malware, account compromise, and suspicious user activity.
• Familiarity with vulnerability management tools such as Nessus or similar platforms.
• Understanding of core security principles including threat detection, risk management, and incident response.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor, investigate, and respond to security alerts and incidents within Microsoft Sentinel.
• Manage cyber security tickets, service requests, and day-to-day operational security activities.
• Analyse suspicious activity and escalate potential threats where appropriate.
• Support vulnerability management and remediation activities across the organisation.
• Assist with incident response, security investigations, and cyber improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with end users to provide security advice and support.

We are partnering with an NHS organisation seeking an experienced Cyber Security Analyst to support a busy security team during a period of increased demand. This is a 2-month initial contract with potential for extension, based in a hybrid Cardiff arrangement, paying £240 per day inside IR35. The role focuses on maintaining a secure Microsoft-based environment, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Sentinel, and offers the opportunity to support important security operations and improvement work.
