Cyber Security Engineer

Salary: £60,000 - 75,000 per year

• Strong hands-on experience in a Cyber Security Engineering or Microsoft Security Engineering role.
• Practical experience with Microsoft security technologies, particularly Defender, Sentinel, Entra and Azure.
• Experience engineering security controls, developing detection capabilities and improving security tooling.
• Knowledge of security automation, integrations, scripting and response workflows.
• Understanding of cloud security and modern security practices.
• Ability to take ownership, prioritise effectively and work independently in a fast-moving environment.
• Experience with Microsoft Purview, Security Copilot and emerging AI security capabilities is advantageous.
• Relevant Microsoft security certifications are welcomed.

• Engineer, configure and maintain security controls across Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Entra, Purview and Azure.
• Develop and improve security monitoring, telemetry, detection rules and alerting capabilities.
• Build security automation, integrations and response workflows.
• Review existing security tooling, identify gaps and drive continuous improvement.
• Work with technology teams to implement modern security practices and integrate security controls into delivery processes.
• Contribute to developing AI security capabilities, including controls and monitoring for AI agents and automated workflows.
