Cyber Security Engineer (Contract) - Bristol, UK

• Initial 3-month contract
• Up to £500 per day, Inside IR35
• Bristol, hybrid working (3 days onsite, 2 days remote)
• BPSS Security Clearance Required

ABOUT THE CLIENT

Our client is an established organisation looking to strengthen its day-to-day cyber security operations. Working across a hybrid Microsoft environment, they require an experienced Cyber Security Engineer to support vulnerability management, security monitoring and incident response.

THE CYBER SECURITY ENGINEER ROLE

As a Cyber Security Engineer, you will take ownership of day-to-day security activities, working closely with infrastructure teams to strengthen security controls and respond to emerging threats.

Key responsibilities include:

• Investigating security alerts and supporting incident response
• Identifying, assessing and remediating vulnerabilities
• Managing EDR/XDR, DLP and conditional access alerts
• Supporting Microsoft Sentinel, email security and privileged access management
• Working with infrastructure teams across cloud and on-premises environments
• Supporting security-related infrastructure projects and change management

CYBER SECURITY ENGINEER ESSENTIAL SKILLS

• Proven experience in security engineering and security operations
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft security technologies
• Hands-on experience with vulnerability management, EDR/XDR and DLP
• Experience with Microsoft Sentinel, conditional access and email security
• Understanding of offensive and defensive security, including purple teaming
• Experience securing hybrid cloud and on-premises environments
• Strong communication, troubleshooting and incident response skills
