Cyber Security Engineer
Summary
A hands-on Security Engineer role in an established Cardiff-based Cyber Resilience function, working hybrid to manage Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Azure and Entra ID security, drive vulnerability management and incident response, and support frameworks such as NCSC CAF, ISO 27001 and NIST CSF.
Salary: £62,000 - 72,000 per year
Requirements:- Proven experience as a Security Engineer
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Defender and Sentinel
- Good experience securing Azure and Entra ID environments
- Hands-on experience with vulnerability management
- Understanding of security frameworks and technical controls
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Manage and improve Microsoft Defender and Sentinel capabilities
- Secure Azure environments and implement effective security controls
- Manage Entra ID security, including Conditional Access, Identity Protection, and privileged access
- Support vulnerability management and remediation
- Implement data protection controls using Microsoft Purview
- Support threat monitoring, detection, and incident response
- Provide security input into technology projects and architecture decisions
- Support security frameworks including NCSC CAF, ISO 27001, NIST CSF, and CIS Controls
- Act as a security SME to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
