Our Federal Government client is seeking two experienced Senior Cyber Security Engineers to join a small, high-impact Cyber Engineering team responsible for developing and enhancing cyber security technologies, processes and capabilities.
The successful candidates will have strong experience across multiple cyber security domains, cloud technologies and infrastructure-as-code, with the ability to quickly understand business requirements and translate them into effective cyber security solutions.

The successful candidates will have strong experience across multiple cyber security domains, cloud technologies and infrastructure-as-code, with the ability to quickly understand business requirements and translate them into effective cyber security solutions.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Interpret strategic business direction and functional requirements to develop technologies that enhance the organisation's defensive cyber security posture.
- Collaborate with internal project teams, stakeholders and SOC teams to develop and deliver key cyber security technologies.
- Develop and enhance orchestration and automation technologies and processes.
- Continuously refine cyber security processes, methods and technologies to improve the organisation's security posture.
- Work independently across multiple projects under broad direction.
- Translate complex cyber security technologies and concepts into simple, effective processes and mentor junior team members where required.
- Develop and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including architectural designs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Service Design Packs.
- Participate in procurement activities and provide specialist cyber security advice.
- Contribute to the ongoing maturity and continual improvement of cyber security capabilities and processes.
- Demonstrated experience in at least three of the following cyber security domains: SIEM, SOAR, Threat Intelligence Platforms (TIP), Vulnerability Management, Threat Modelling, UEBA, PKI Administration, Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM), Cloud-Native Application Protection Platform (CNAPP), or Enterprise Logging.
- Strong experience with CI/CD and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), particularly Terraform.
- Demonstrated experience working with cloud environments and technologies, including Azure, AWS and SaaS environments.
- Familiarity with Australian Government and industry cyber security frameworks, standards, controls and guidelines, including PSPF, ISM, Essential Eight (E8) and ISO standards.
- Equivalent experience with comparable technologies, frameworks and standards will also be considered.
- Understanding of secure DevSecOps practices.
- Proficiency in Kusto Query Language (KQL) or Search Processing Language (SPL).
- Familiarity with identity and access management concepts, including RBAC, TBAC and PBAC.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, including Change Management, Disaster Recovery (DR), Risk and Impact Analysis, and Incident Management.
- Experience working within a Federal Government environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement, communication and documentation skills.
