Salary: ₱50,000 – ₱65,000 per month

About the role

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cyber Security Officer to join our team immediately. This position has been created in direct response to a recent security breach that resulted in significant financial and reputational damage to the company. The primary responsibility of this role is to design, implement, and maintain a robust security architecture that protects our systems, email infrastructure, and sensitive company data from cyber threats, including phishing attacks, email compromise, and identity theft. The Cybersecurity Officer will be responsible for building a comprehensive security framework from the ground up and ensuring the company is protected against future incidents.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement a secure IT infrastructure, including email security gateways, firewalls, endpoint protection, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) across all company accounts.

• Deploy and manage advanced email security solutions to detect, block, and quarantine phishing emails, malicious attachments, and suspicious links.

• Develop and implement an incident response plan. Lead investigations into security breaches, identify root causes, and implement corrective measures to prevent recurrence.

• Create, update, and enforce company-wide cybersecurity policies, including acceptable use policies, password policies, and data protection protocols.

• Develop and deliver mandatory cybersecurity awareness training programs. Ensure all employees complete training and maintain accurate records of completion. Implement testing mechanisms such as simulated phishing campaigns to evaluate employee vigilance.

• Continuously monitor company systems and networks for suspicious activity. Implement logging and alerting systems to detect potential breaches in real-time.

• Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in the company's systems.

• Manage user access controls and permissions, ensuring the principle of least privilege is applied across all systems.

• Ensure compliance with relevant data protection regulations. Prepare regular security reports for management, documenting incidents, risks, and mitigation efforts.

• Evaluate and manage third-party vendors and service providers to ensure they meet the company's security standards.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, CompTIA Security+, or equivalent (Highly Preferred).

• Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, IT security, or network administration.

• Proven experience in designing and implementing security architectures.

• Hands-on experience with email security solutions (e.g., Proofpoint, Mimecast, Microsoft Defender for Office 365).

• Experience with firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and endpoint detection and response (EDR) tools.

• Experience in incident response and forensic investigation.

• Experience developing and delivering cybersecurity training programs.

• Strong knowledge of phishing techniques, social engineering, and email-based threats.

• Proficiency in network security, encryption, and authentication protocols (MFA, SSO).
