You will be working for a national public sector organisation that provides leadership, policy support, and quality assurance for a highly regulated service sector, collaborating with governments and stakeholders across Australia.
You are the primary technical operator for monitoring, detection, investigation, response, vulnerability management, and control-baseline uplift, and supports the Manager Cyber Security in compliance activities related to relevant Australian Government standards and frameworks.

- Minimum 5 years of hands-on IT operational experience, with 3 years in a technical cyber security, cloud security, Azure administration, or Microsoft security administration role.
- Demonstrated ability to write, tune, and troubleshoot queries and rules for detection, hunting, and investigation across Microsoft security tools.
- Practical implementation experience of Essential Eight ML2 and ISM controls in a Microsoft Azure / M365 environment.
- Experience administering and securing Microsoft Azure environments and security technologies such as Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel, Microsoft Entra ID, Azure Policy, Microsoft Purview, and Microsoft 365 security controls.
- Ability to monitor, investigate, and respond to security events across cloud, identity, endpoint, and network environments.
- Experience with security tools such as SIEM, EDR, XDR, DLP, vulnerability management platforms, cloud security dashboards, email security and incident response workflows.
- Strong understanding of Azure security principles, including secure configuration, least privilege, logging, monitoring, network security groups, private endpoints, key management, and secure access controls.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess, prioritise, and communicate cyber security risks.
- Ability to communicate technical cyber security and cloud security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
