About the role
Insight Xcite is recruiting Cloud Penetration Testers for a contingent customer requirement in Herndon, Virginia. The customer labor category is Cyber Security Project Engineer. This is hands-on penetration testing and adversarial security testing across enterprise and cloud environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop authorized penetration-testing plans and execute hands-on testing of systems, networks, applications, and cloud environments.
- Apply adversarial tactics and system exploitation techniques to identify and validate vulnerabilities.
- Analyze test results, document risks, recommend mitigations, and brief technical and management stakeholders.
- Review architecture, configuration, design, and security documentation; coordinate testing and technical reviews.
Required Qualifications
- Demonstrated cybersecurity or related IT experience, including cyber penetration testing, adversarial testing, attack methods, and system exploitation.
- Working knowledge of security principles for Linux, Windows, and virtual platforms; experience with complex Windows installations and enterprise systems/hypervisors.
- Experience designing, testing, or implementing security architecture, analyzing network architectures and security, and using network management tools.
- Experience developing risk methodologies and translating test findings into risk and threat mitigation plans.
- Understanding of cloud provider designs and services.
Preferred Qualifications
Relevant technical degree; CEH, OSCP, or GPEN certification; cloud penetration testing; AI-assisted testing; and communicating vulnerability results to senior leaders.
Location and Travel
Onsite in Herndon, with work at other Washington metropolitan area sites. Local assignments may last approximately 4–10 weeks, up to four times per year. Domestic and international temporary-duty travel may also be required.
This opportunity is contingent; placement depends on the applicable customer requirement and approvals.
